Videogame Emulation for PocketPC

Nintendo Entertainment System, Famicom, GameBoy, Super GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Pocket Printer, GameLink, and DiskSystem are trademarks of Nintendo. SEGA SG1000, SC3000, SF7000, Master System, and GameGear are trademarks of SEGA. While programs presented at this site attempt to create "compatible" environment for the gaming software, they are not equivalent to the original hardware.

This page is dedicated to emulators - programs that play old Nintendo and SEGA video games on your PocketPC. For Windows or MSDOS versions go here. Below, you will find programs that emulate:

To use these programs, follow simple steps:

  1. Download and install the MorphGear host application for your PocketPC platform.

  2. Download and install the trial versions of all four emulator modules for your PocketPC platform:

PPC2003 PocketPC 2003 running Windows Mobile 2003, such as Dell Axim X5 Advanced, Dell Axim X3, or HP iPAQ 2215.
PPC Older PocketPC including Compaq iPAQ, Dell Axim, HP Jornada 548/568, and Casio EM-500/E-125/E-115.
HPC Handheld PC like HP Jornada 720/820.

  3. To remove trial limitations, obtain licenses for one or more emulators. There are discounts when you license several modules at once.

  4. If you have licensed some modules already but changed your PocketPC setup or email address, you can always reactivate your licences. Please, do it cautiously though, as there is a limit on the number of reactivations per month. Note that the system will first ask you for your current email address. If it is different from the original one, you will then be prompted to enter your old email address.

History of MorphGear

The MorphGear project has been conceived by Aaron Oneal who has ported four emulators written by Marat Fayzullin to the PocketPC platform. The resulting product has become known as the MorphGear. Later, Aaron has turned MorphGear into a common framework where other emulators can be inserted as "MorphModules". This site presents the original four modules based on the iNES, Virtual GameBoy, Virtual GameBoy Advance, and MasterGear. You can obtain desktop versions of these emulators here.

As Aaron moved to work on other projects and further develop the MorphGear framework, the management and support of the original four modules passed to me, Marat Fayzullin. I hope to bring them up to the latest versions of the core code and continue supporting them for the new and existing users, as the PocketPC platform grows.
